Entrusted by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA), in accordance with the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Administrative Measures for the Safety Review of New Food Ingredients, has announced that four substances—L-ergothioneine, sodium γ-polyglutamate, glucosyl hesperidin, and silk protein—have passed the technical review conducted by the Expert Committee.
A public consultation is hereby open, and stakeholders are invited to submit comments and feedback. The consultation period will close on May 22, 2026.
